Mt Pleasant Before

This was how Mt Pleasant looked a few weeks ago. So many lives have been challenged and changed under that patio since we took it over 10 years ago

Victors not Victims

Police helicopter with chief of police lands in our grounds. They came looking for survivors. No one hurt, Thank God. Met with some of the residence.

Church Totally Gone

This was a relatively new building. We had a service here just a few weeks ago. What power can rip bricks & cement apart? Remember the wind outside Elijah’s cave ripped up the rocks?

2nd Church Destroyed

The Methodist Church had never fully recovered from Hurricane Ike in 2008. The roof had been newly restored then. Nine years later to the day Hurricane Irma totally removed the roof, windows & doors.

Breaking News

Mt Pleasant, Salt Cay, Turks & Caicos –

Guests sheltered in an internal office and though everyone was alarmed, no one was physically hurt. First responders are now visiting the island.

Mt Pleasant remains our home base (when we are there) and Christian Respite/Guest House since 2007. Just a few weeks before the hurricanes we recommissioned the base as our overseas western training centre. Then, the eye of Hurricane Irma thundered directly overhead. Followed by Hurricane Maria just a few days later – See the before picture top right..

Thankfully, we had not yet ordered or installed the solar panels on the back patio roof or the aquaponics system or these would have all been destroyed.

Mt Pleasant Before

This was taken a few weeks ago by the realtors drone when we thought selling and relocating was the best way forward. We revised that plan by deciding that all western training could be carried out here. Little did we think that within weeks the landscape could be drastically changed See more

Mt Pleasant After

We are now receiving reports as to the extent of the damage. Roof is 50% gone, Most doors blown in or off, windows blown in. Internal walls gone. Back patio gone, all guard rails, fences and gates gone. Almost all furniture, curtains & fabrics, bedding etc, water logged and mostly ruined. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. The Lord sent Nehemiah to rebuild Jerusalem’s walls, Ezra to rebuild the temple. Will he send you to rebuild this training base?

UPDATE: Remarkable answer to prayer yesterday (5th Oct), some island friends have offered to clean up and shut up the place, making it wind & water tight so that the elements do not cause more damage. That alone is a huge boost, because we cannot get there at this time.
